"In each of my paintings, I try to convey my fond childhood memories of life on the family farm" Charles Freitag is a native Iowan, born and raised on a small farm in the heartland of rural America. Growing up on the family farm gave him deep appreciation for his natural surroundings, and can be found in his paintings of yesteryear. During high school, Charles excelled at art, and took his dream of becoming a full time artist one step further when he enrolled at Hawkeye Community College after graduation. While there, he earned honors before finishing his degree at the Academy of Art in Chicago. Charles' work is inspired by his favorite illustrator, Norman Rockwell. That inspiration can be seen in his paintings, with his meticulous attention to detail, and the subtle composition and coloring of all the facets of the painting. Charles' growing popularity has astonished the young artist. With numerous magazine covers and awards, Charles is quickly becoming one of America's most highly sought after artists. His work can be found in galleries and collectors' homes across the U.S., Canada and internationally. At the age of thirty-nine, Charles is happily married, a father of six and resides in Marion, Iowa.

From rings that have been mangled in a garbage disposal to just tightening a few prongs or sizing a ring, our on-site jewelers are the best in town. Not only are they exceptional at what they do, they’re also right here in the store which means your jewelry doesn’t ever get mailed somewhere else or taken to be worked on by some other jewelry store across town. Hand-Engraving Perfected by only the most talented jewelry artists, hand-engraving is an art practiced by few. Hand engraving involves actually cutting shapes, patterns, or letters into the metal. Unlike just casting a pattern directly into a given piece, hand engraving allows a much higher degree of detail and intricacy in the patterns. Working under a microscope, each line and pattern is cut into the metal by hand using specially prepared gravers. The artistry associated with hand engraving represents the pinnacle of the jewelry arts. Our hand-engraver can use that skill to make jewelry even more special and unique.

The first issue of Tidbits dates back to 1987 when it was published in Helena, Montana, as a twice-weekly paper, then later as a weekly. In 1993, the enterprise was purchased by an entrepreneur named Dave Steele, who moved Tidbits to Billings where it continued as a weekly paper. About a year later, a visitor passing through Billings picked up a copy, and inquired if he might publish a Tidbits paper in his hometown back in Tennessee. As a result, the first licensed Tidbits operation came into being. Corporate ownership changed hands again in 2002, and the company was relocated to Montgomery, Alabama. Today weekly editions of Tidbits can be found in over 250 counties in 33 states all across the United States and Canada. Nationally, the combined weekly readership of Tidbits is approximately 5,000,000 and growing. The first issue of Tidbits of Linn County was published on February 6th, 2006. The first issue of Tidbits of Johnson County was published on January 12th, 2012. Our current circulation gives us over 23,000 weekly readers.
